Replacement GE RPWFE Refrigerator Water Filter ( Without RFID chip ) NOTE: Please read carefully This filter that we offer does not come with an RFID chip. Therefore, it cannot be used right away. However, you can easily transfer the old/used filter chip to this new filter, and then it will be ready for use. Just remember, if you want to use this item, make sure you have the old filter chip and keep it safe! To replace the filter, follow these steps (refer to the product photos for visual guidance): 1. Make sure to keep the old/used filter and locate the RFID chip. You can find the chip under the label, where it says "This side must face inward." 2. Gently pry off the RFID chip from the old/used filter using your fingernail or a thin tool like a knife. 3. Stick the RFID chip onto the new filter, specifically on the area beneath the label that says "BACK, This side must be hidden after install."
